MÁV Workers' Quarter

The MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) workers’ quarter is situated near to Ferencváros railway station. The quarter was built for railway workers around the turn of the twentieth century followed by building the railway officer’s flats in the 1930ies.

There is a water tower is located in the centre of the workers’ quarter near to Ferencváros railway station. The 22m high water tower’s cylindrical tank was at a height of 15m, providing water supply for the quarter’ houses, including the 2-3 storey buildings. Now the water tower is nicely rebuilt to a luxury flat.
